Sales of outdoor goods have had an overwhelming increase during the pandemic year 2020.
For the outdoor company Outnorth, the business has grown fast the past year.
A growth that has led to a need for more space and therefore Outnorth has chosen to move its warehouse from Växjö to a larger warehouse in Gothenburg, Sweden. The new warehouse will be be automated with an AutoStore system – and this is the first time Outnorth has automated its warehousing operations.
Invests in AutoStore
The decision to automate the new warehouse was made in the autumn of 2020, and given how the year developed commercially, the increased volumes require automation of the logistics, so that Outnorth can continue to give its customers the best customer experience.
We were aware of the AutoStore system and Element Logic’s professionalism because we are part of the Egmont Group, where, for example, Jollyroom has already installed this robot system.
Outnorth’s investment in AutoStore from Element Logic consists of 95,000 bins with associated robots and ports for storage and picking.
We are happy for Outnorth’s successes and that they choose AutoStore as the system for their automation. It is exciting to be able to help a successful e-retailer like Outnorth, who needs to invest to take the next step, says Thomas Karlsson, Managing Director of Element Logic Sweden AB.
